Back of the Book Blurb:
EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE . . .
Surveillance expert Seth Mackey knows everything about the women that his millionaire boss toys with--and tosses aside. Raine Cameron is something different. Night after night, Seth watches her on a dozen different video screens. Her vulnerable beauty haunts him and her fresh innocence stirs a white-hot passion that he can barely control. Raine is pure temptation, but Seth has something more important to take care of first. He's convinced that his boss, Victor Lazar, is responsible for his half-brother's murder. He cannot put his secret investigation at risk, but he can't stop wanting her--craving her--and soon he knows he can't let Victor have her. For Raine may be Victor's next victim . . . EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE
Raine knows she's being watched--but no one can see the secrets in her heart. She has reasons of her own to seek revenge on Victor Lazar, and she will, despite her fear--and the distracting presence of Seth Mackey. Though Raine has little experience with men, Seth's fiercely masculine good looks and animal sensuality stir her most erotic fantasies when she's alone . . .and lead her to a bold plan. Offering her body to him, surrending totally to his ruthless desire might well push her beyond all emotional limits--and beyond fear itself.

Guest Review by Derenda E. Pratt:
Recently, I read Behind Closed Doors by Shannon McKenna. I would like to say it was my highly intelligent investigative skills that led me to this author, truth is I simply cross referenced author styles and just happened to land on her series! The story is a murder/mystery/intrigue that opened up rather like a flower in bloom. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Although I suspected the plot, I was pleasantly surprised when the main character, Raine, realized her connection to it. It begins with Seth monitoring Raine who he suspects can help lead him to Victor, a man suspected of killing Seth's brother Jesse. Seth is a socially challenged character whose crass words and behavior almost make him unbelievable until you understand his childhood. Ironically, Raine is investigating Victor as well, as she suspects him of killing her father. Victor is the perfect villain, cold, ruthless, and demanding. He is such an entertaining character I found myself rather envying him, his passions, his control, his manipulations of others. Yes, I wanted to hate him, but still got to give the man his due, he is charismatic! The other characters of interest include the three McCloud brothers who filter throughout the story giving shades of mystery to an already hooked reader. The love story, between Seth and Raine, unfolds with tons of descriptive sex. But, there is also a story of family. Those we are born to by blood, those who imprint our lives who aren't blood, and the finalization of hope that in the end, redemption can come for all of us. If we choose well. Perhaps, the greater story here lies in the truth that "no man is an island". Life is about choices. The choices we make for our selves, for others, for money, and for the price one is willing to pay for pride and greed. It is a story of loved ones lost, and the loss of those not so loved. I look forward to reading more of McKenna and journeying down the adventures of her creative mind that takes a reader to the edge of possibilities!
